Announcement of CAO/Clerk - Township of Southwold

The Township of Southwold is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeff Carswell as Chief Administrative Officer (CAO)/Clerk, effective February 10, 2025.

Jeff has been serving as the Special Projects Manager for both the Township of Southwold and the Municipality of West Elgin since 2023. Before this, he held the position of interim CAO/Clerk for Southwold and also served as the Township's Director of Corporate Services/Treasurer. With over 30 years of municipal experience, Jeff brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to this role.

We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to Lisa Higgs, the previous CAO/Clerk, for her seven and a half years of dedicated service to the Township. Lisa played a pivotal role in fostering strong relationships between local municipalities, the private sector, and the broader community. Her contributions will be missed, and we wish her all the best in her future endeavors.

We are excited about the continued progress and success that will be achieved under Jeff’s leadership in the Township of Southwold.
