Fire and Emergency Services

The Southwold Fire Department protects a population of over 4,000 residents within 301 kilometres of Elgin County. Included in this are a wide variety of homes, industries, farms and businesses. There is also 17 kilometres of Highway 401 and the Green Lane Landfill site that they respond to. Our fire department is also an active member of the Elgin County Mutual Aid Association. They proudly serve Fingal, Frome, Iona, Iona Station, Middlemarch, Paynes Mills, Shedden and Talbotville.

Within the Township the Southwold Fire Department operates two fire stations:

Shedden Station
