Communities in Bloom

“It's not what you have, but how you keep it”

This is the motto that the Southwold Communities in Bloom committee has chosen, since it expresses what is most important in community. Southwold CIB wants everyone to know that it is all about the little things that make community special. It does not matter if you are a master gardener or that you do not have one single flower on your property. If the yard is neat, the mailbox is painted and the long grass is kept up, that it makes a positive contribution to the Township of Southwold. 

The committee first began in 2015, with a goal of getting as many people as possible, doing little things, that make a difference. 

Since 2015 the committee has been involved in the following:

• various spring and fall seminars
• Planter boxes installed and landscaped around Township of Southwold Hamlet signs and in communities
• Spring plant sale 
• Tree planting
• Banners designed and hung in Fingal
• Raising Canadian Flags in communities with the Southwold Fire Department
