Water Quality Reports

The Ontario Clean Water Agency provides quarterly and annual reports on the Southwold Water Distribution System. The Township of Southwold also purchases its water from the St. Thomas Area Secondary Water Supply and the Elgin Area Water System. Both these entities prepare and provide water quality reports to us.

Drinking Water Quality Management System

The Township of Southwold in coordination with OCWA, is committed to comply with all applicable regulatory requirements to supply safe drinking water to meet their consumers' requirements. The Township of Southwold and OCWA are committed to the maintenance and continual improvement of the Quality Management System and the Drinking Water Quality Management Standard. A copy of the Operational Plan can be made available upon request. 

The Ministry of the Environment established a licensing system for water system under the Safe Water Drinking Act. As a part of this licensing system, owners of drinking water systems must develop a 6-year financial plan that demonstrates the financial stability of the system. The Township of Southwold has developed a financial plan in accordance with the Safe Water Drinking Act and important regulations. It has published the financial plan. It was approved on January 11, 2016.
